Just recently we have come to the realization that for some people the meaning of the word Amateur has a negative connotation and the use of the word in our name devalues or demeans the group.
To counter the stigma associated with the word Amateur we have decided to rebrand the group by replacing the word Amateur with the word Aspiring. The word aspiring has a far more positive meaning and better describes the groups aspirations.
So welcome again to the AFMG - Aspiring Film Makers Group. |

AFMG Skills and Talent Registry
After much searching for a software solution to integrate a Skills and Talent Registry database into our AFMG website we are now finally proud to announce the search is over and the Registry is now operational!
The online database currently hosts three main film making categories: Crew, Cast and Services. Where Crew deals with those at the back end of a camera, Cast deals with those at the front end of a camera and Services deals with anything relating to the film making process.
The Skill and Talent Registry will be online 24/7 and available for all (Guest and members) to Search, Browse or View its content. We hope this new service will further provide our Amateur Film Making Community with greater opportunities in the future.
Members are obviously encouraged to enter their details into the registry which is located via the AFMG website mainmenu or directly via this link AFMG Skills & Talent Registry |

AFMG Video Gallery Full Length Documentaries
We are pleased to announce the release of full length documentaries available for viewing in our video gallery.
There are currently 13 titles available for viewing but more will be added as we find other titles either released in the public domain or for which we have obtain permission from the film maker.
The online video player presents a internet delivery satisfactory image but as film makers we aspire to have our work seen as the film maker had intented. These days that typcially means big screen 1080p HD. Also as most documentary film makers find it difficult to finance productions we highly recommend that our members either buy a DVD (should one still be available) or send a donatation to the film maker of choice if you find their work moves you to that.
As well as being educational on the topic at hand, the viewing of documentaries is also educational for aspiring documentary film makers too by using the "learn by looking" method! For this reason alone this section of our website will be an invaluable educational resource. Note: This section is only available to registered members. Visit the gallery via our website main menu or follow the link Video Gallery - Documentaries
