Welcome to the South African Chapter of the AFMG
The Amateur Film Makers Group (AFMG) chapter in South Africa would like to forward a friendly invitation to anyone in Southern Africa who has a interest in filmmaking to join our group and get involved in creating a platform for independent directors, producers, scriptwriters, musicians and any other interested participants where they can share information and initiate and get involved in projects.
We are blessed in South Africa with a sunny climate, a wide variety of cultures and subjects, and with a growing international film industry. The potential for developing a springboard for successful projects in a non profit organisation like this is tremendous and with a developing international network of participants the future of independent productions in SA is bright. Everywhere I go I speak to people who are excited about the possibility to get involved in filmmaking, and in creating this network of people that are passionate about this process we are taking positive steps on the road to realising this goal.
No special skill is required; all you need is the will to get involved in the exciting business of filmmaking on any level. What we don’t know we will figure out together or learn from each other. The most exciting creative material more than often evolves from this type of platform where motivation is cultivated in the crucible of passion.
I look forward to hearing from you!
