Mario Nicotra is pleased to be representing the AFMG as a delegate at this years The Circle Conference 2009 which will be held in conjunction with the 2009 MEIFF (Middle East International Film Festival 2009) in Abu Dhabi.

Mario said he is looking forward to participating in this years conference, attending workshops and meeting with the many other international delegates.

"It is my aim to raise the profile of the AFMG and of the many unique opportunities we offer Amateur Film Makers around the globe. I also wish to build relationships with film industry delegates so as to create a mutually beneficial working arrangement."

What is the Circle?

Introduction. The Circle is the only initiative in the region devoted to film financing, production and growing talent. Designed to transform Abu Dhabi into a film making and new media hub, The Circle supports and facilitates the growth of filmmakers, regional investors and international co-productions.

Vision. Create the bridge to facilitate international Co-productions and become the conduit for Hollywood, Europe and Asia to meet the brightest emerging Middle East filmmakers.

Mission. The Circle will provide a variety of programs throughout the year to educate local investors, create co-production deals, showcase new artists, improve the skills of Emirati and Middle East filmmakers, arrange production collaborations, and raise Abu Dhabi's visibility to the international film community.

Initiatives. The Circle plans to undertake a host of initiatives to bring its vision to life. These will be aimed at various key aspects of film making, such as Film Financing, Film Directing, Screenwriting and raising the profile of Abu Dhabi in the International Community.
